The Sun sets on Snow White…

Here’s a colourisation of three Sol 113 images, showing the trench “Snow White” at the end of the day, with the shadows of the trench’s jagged, crumbling walls being cast over the floor by the sinking Sun, and frost glinting in the trench too… Love this one, I must admit… click on the pic below to bring up a full size version…

 

… and them, a day later, on Sol 114, Phoenix returned some images taken mid-evening showing just how much frost is building up inside the trench…

I’ve boosted the brightness on that to show details within the shadows… here’s an animation showing those shadows sweeping across the trench floor as the minutes pass…
