That’s Sol 123 – Phoenix’s 123rd day on Mars – and here are some colourisations I’ve made using raw microscope images from the latest release…
That’s a dust sample colourised by myself beyond what would be considered “natural”, just to make it look pretty, really. I just like the colours!
If you want a purer, RGB-combined and no tweaking image, this is what the dust looks like in natural-ish colour…
… and tweaking that image’s contrast and levels just a little gives this (I think) rather more pleasing image…
Whichever version you like best, that’s fine. As long as you like one of them!
